Steps to Sustainability
Most of the children in the Christiana Children’s Home (CCH) in Bapatla go to the Elizabeth Barrie School, an on-site K-10 school that was founded by CCH in 1992. The school has been 100% funded by CCH and its supporters since the beginning. A plan is currently in motion to make the school financially self-sustaining, which would improve the quality of education, provide enhanced educational opportunities to more children, and ease the financial burden on CCH.
The proposed project is to expand and improve the on-site Elizabeth Barrie School (EBS) to become a government-certified English language school for grades K-12 with the capacity to attract market-rate tuition-paying families, thus achieving 100% self-sufficiency within 10 years.
The total expense of this project is $140,000 and we have already made progress in securing funding commitments! Please help us secure the future stability of this school. Together, we can help this wonderful ministry reach sustainability.
Here is our plan!
Step 1
Expand EBS Infrastructure
- Build additional classrooms
- Build & equip new labs
- Upgrade existing classroom furniture
Step 2
EBS Self-Sufficiency
- Improve quality of English instruction
- Obtain government certification to add grades 11 & 12
- Build tuition-paying enrollment
Step 3
Expense Savings & Income Generation for CCH
- Maintain quality of school
- Maximize enrollment
- Steward school/home partnership
